Talking My First Ribbon

This has been a week of a lot of firsts for me. I joined my first orchid society last Thursday. I took my Project 4 plant to show and tell or whatever it is that they do. It was a huge hit with everyone. The gentleman who is a founding member and who judges the plants at the society meeting asked me if I was going to send it to the Roseburg show on Sat. & Sun. I told him I hadn't really thought about it and asked him if he thought I should. He told me yes that it was a neat plant and thought it would do well. So I gave him my baby and he took it up to the show. Unfortunately I had other committments and couldn't go.

He called me this afternoon to make arrangements for me to pick up my plant. When I arrived he was grinning from ear to ear and handed me a box with my plant and a blue ribbon! I am so excited I can hardly stand myself. LOL. I'm pretty sure this was not an AOS sanctioned event, but it was a show put on by 3 orchid societies from 3 different areas in Oregon. My ribbon says WUP (Willamette, Umpqua and Pacific) Orchid Societies Show.

I'll have to ask more questions when I see him again. I'm so new at this I don't even know what I don't know!

Congratulations Terri!!! Way to go!

You must post a pic of your plant along with the ribbon! You must, you must, you MUST!!!

I have no idea what project 4 was/is. I wasn't participating in the forums at that time.

Congrats!!!
Too bad you were not there to personally receive the ribbon, that would have been the best!!!
I don't know what plant it is either, I think that it was the project right before I joined OB.

Congrats and a very deserving flower. I just love it now only if I could get mine to bloom.

Awesome!! Thats a really cool achievment, especially since it is just a plant you sent to a show as an afterthought! Good work!!
