Default Locarno Orchids Show, new purchases

Last weekend I was at the Locarno Orchids Show in South Switzerland. It was a rather dissapointing show, but I could find some nice plants and also have some very good discussions with friends and contacts from Orchids nurseries in Germany and South America.
And I jus wanted to show you all here what came with me back to Basel

Pic 1: Ctsm. planiceps and Ctsm. pileatum var. aurem, both plants are quite large (PBs = 6.5 - 7.5 inches)
Pic 2: Ctsm. expansum, new import from Ecuagenera, bare root but in good conditions - looks like a dwarf when next to the planiceps and pileatum(PBs = 2.75 inches)
Pic 3: Dendrobium aggregatum x jenkinsii (Labelled this way, I will have to wait for it to bloom, and also e-mail the nursery for ID confirmation)
Pic 4 and 5: Phrag. lindenii and Phrag. fischerii, both are new imports from Ecuagenera. Phrag lindenii looks very small to me (7 inches tall), but with a flowers spike. The Phrag lindenii plant I know from Venezuela are at least 4 times taller!
Pic 6: Trichoglottis triflora, 3 plants in one mount
Pic 7: Neostylis Lou Sneary, Dendrobium brassii, Dendrobium pachyphyllum, Pteroceras semiteretifolium (2 plants) and Haraela retrocalla (2 plants in the front)
Pic 8: well, I finally joined the group pf Haraella retrocalla owners

...and just before going to Locarno, I received this two little ones:

Ascofinetia Cherry Blossom and Asconopsis Jiaho's Orange

The funny thing is that I did not like the Neos Hybrids, and now I end up with one Ascofinetia and one Neostylis... probably I should go for vascofinetia to complete the combo

Seeing all the nice plants you brought back, how could that have been a disappointing show? Your Haraella retrocalla makes me even more determined to get one myself!

And if you don't like the Neo hybrids, you know where to send them!

Well, I see several that are real keepers. You never can have enough Haraella's. The three-in-one mount is a real keeper (if the mount holds up.) Will this go in your orchidarium? (Just curious). The phrags look funny to me (like anemic). Looks like a normal "impuse buy" to me I do it every show I go to, then wonder how in heck I'm going to house these 'chids!

If you don't have one already, do it! That's a strong recommendation. These little guys bloom continuously.

LOL Hi Camille, it was dissapointing as an "Orchids exhibition", rather small and not many "WOW! Plants" in exhibition, and the displays were sort of "let's make them quickly as we are late and the people are coming"

However, there were some nice and interesting nurseries there. I was looking forward to meet the guys from Nardotto & Capello, and speak with them about their Catasetinae, but god, they were AHs! so i did not even wasted my time at their stand

The most interesting plant I saw in show was a magnific clon of Paphiopedilum helenae (I need this species ) and Neofineta falcata "Shutenno" (12 spikes with perfect flowers!)

and I am very happy with my two Ctsm planiceps and Ctsm pileatum var aureum (however, the aurem is not yet 100% sure)

Actually, I've been wanting one ever since I saw pics of yours!(the 3 plants on 1 mount) I nearly got one at a show last week, but it got snitched out from under my nose. I'm going to another show at the end of the month, so

Nardotto e Capello have excellent plants, well priced, but unfortunately they are pretty much 'banned' from french shows precisely for those reasons! French growers are a rip off. What does AH mean?

12 spikes on a Neo?? Please tell me you took a pic of that!

Actually, I just wanted to pic the two Phrags and the Ctsm expansum, as they were brought for me from Ecuagenera. Then I saw the two large Ctsm and teh Dendro aggregatum, and at 25 CHF (ca. 25$) each, I could not leave them go (especially, since var. aureum seems very rare in Europe). Dendro brassii was in my wish list since long ago, and tehn discussing about its culture with Mr jenny (Luzerne Garten) I decided to take it with me, and then he also suggested I should try pachyphyllum, as they would do well together with Dendro laevifoilum (which I already had from the same nursery). The rest... well... you know... you are there... and you pic and pic and pic.. and then start running desperate to find info on how to grow what you bought

and yes, the minis hot grower will go in my terrarium of which I hope to be posting the first pics in November

Do you mind telling us the price you paid for the Phrag. fischerii ? Ecuagenera doesn't give the price on their website for this beauty. They are coming to a show near Vancouver at the end of this month and hopefully they will have some !!!

Update : Thanks Ramon for the PM...
