Hi Steve...thanks! Right now most of my stuff is within the confines of the pool cage and shade house. I do have two small vandas and some epidendrums growing in the yard though.

I am waiting for the trees we planted about 3 years ago to get bigger so I can expand my growing space. Once that happens....

Hey Terri...that is C. Okinowan Rock. Here are a couple of pics. The first shows the plant...about 20 inches tall, growing next to my C. bowringiana var. coerulea. The second is a close-up. Enjoy.

That is such a stunning red! It's absolutely wonderful. You have so many gorgeous orchids in bloom now, and if I weren't so far away, I would come to live in your pool area/shade house!

Oh Ross... You get the double evil eye for that one. In all seriousness, if it ever does snow here, I'm heading to Central or South America...with all my chids in tow!

While I am prepared for the once every 10 to 20 year frost in this area, snow would just be way too much!

Thanks to everyone who has made such wonderful comments about my living space...and to those who have only looked.

I do consider myself blessed (or lucky depending on your perspective) to have such a great and peaceful space to live in. It is a dream come true, and I do love sharing it with folks who come to visit or with friends who just stop by. And I'm glad that I didn't wait until retirement to get here. We'll all have it for a longer period of time this way.

After all of my years growing up and living just outside of Washington DC, I couldn't think of a better place to be, and to have to share with folks. Ahhh...

Holy Cow! That is some kind of gorgeous!!! It must have some C. Chocolate Drop in it somewhere. Sadly way to big for my small, inadequate, weensy grow space.

Found it....

Cattlianthe Okinawan Rock = Cattlianthe Chloe x Cattlianthe Chocolate Drop

I wish they'd quit playing around with names. It's driving me crazy, which believe me is a very short trip this week!

David...thank you for sharing your pics with us. Since my lanai and pool area are very similiar to yours, you have given me some great ideas! I can see you sincerely enjoy life not to mention growing orchids.
