Good hear from you! Mike and I have been hiking the FT lately. We did a overnight backpacking trip last weekend. Not a lot of miles, but it did us good to get out their! The first picture is a panoramic shot it will be in focus when you enlarge it.

Watch out for the hungry beasts out there!!! Tomorrow's Thanksgiving you know. They might want to celebrate too.

Hey guys....I'll be out there on Jane's Scenic Road next week...probably Wednesday...taking photos all morning.

I'm not planning on any swamp hiking, just photography from the road. Hopefully I'll get plenty of shots of wildlife and scenery. There is a forecast high of 71 degrees that day, so I'm also hoping that this doesn't deter the wildlife. Let me know if there are any areas in particular that might be good to visit from the road.

Hi David, Getting shots of wildlife is a hit or miss where ever you go. But your more likely to see deer from the road then inside. You can find orchids close to the road on the east main trail. You park at gate 12 and walk the trail behind the gate. The water should be dropping out there, so there may be area's where you can go in that are dry. Just don't go to far off the trail without a compass or gps. I don't want to have to come looking for you (well maybe I do) No No be careful. Have a great time and post some of those pictures.

Hi dave...thanks! I've got guests stopping by any minute, so I have to be quick.

One reason I'm not swamp hiking...perhaps the only reason I'm not is due to my lack of a gps. I don't need you or anyone else for that matter needing to come find me.

In any event, is gate 12 marked well? I think I've been there before with park rangers, but it's been a while, so I was wondering...ummm...maybe someone will be at the station when I get there that can help out?

Thanks again...and I will be sure to post pics!
