We just got home a little while ago...me, Dana (irphrog) and her husband, my good friend LauraN and David (dgenovese1) met at the gardens and had a wonderful afternoon walking around, buying orchids and having a great time together!

What a blast!!!

I added 13 plants to the collection today, including gifts from friends

All the new orchids are wonderful but the best part of the past few days has been having Dana and her husband Scott staying with us and also meeting David at the sale. I was so happy my friend Laura was able to join us...we all had a lovely lovely day

Sue and her lovely husband were very sweet to let us stay with them and I won't even complain if I wind up getting a cold...it will just be a great reminder of the wonderful time we had!!! I still want to get a CD made of Laura's motivational "chats" to her collection....OMG!!!

It was great to meet David and fight with him over the last Paph bellatulum... ...I'll send you one for Christmas, David!!!

*Just checked for a hybrid name in Orchidwiz on Schom undulata x B nodosa and found that Schom undulata is now L undulata...and the cross of B nodosa x L undulata is known as Bl Caribbean Holiday

Hey Folks,

We did indeed have a great time...and i really enjoyed meeting Suzanne, Laura and Dana...and Dana's husband Scott. I actually carried my camera around all day, but took only 3 photos in the botanical garden and none at the show...go figure...I was too interested in trying to stay ahead of Dana who was getting all the best stuff. ...including that beautiful Paph. bellatulum.

Anyway, here is what I added to my collection from our visit to the Tampa Show:

From Suzanne:
  • Smbc. Jewel Osment
  • Phal. stuartiana
  • Den. moschetum
  • and a cute little piece of a lifesaver plant...in bloom!

From the show:
  • Bulb. A-doribil Anna Roth (in spike with 4 buds)
  • Milt. Xenia's Cove (2 very fragrant blooms)
  • Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' FCC/AOS (in spike and with 2 new growths)

I will post pics tomorrow...er...later today.
