Wish I saw this post earlier! We will all have to get together for an orchid show sooner or later!

Here are some pictures my husband took at the show. These are right off of his camera and have not been adjusted so I apologize if the colors are a little off.....they appear to be pretty accurate though....I hope you enjoy them

Ok folks, here are the pics I took today...sorry I missed the bulbo...I'll get some shots of him when he's blooming though.

The first one is a group shot of the plants that Suzanne gave me. From left to right they are: Den. moschetum, Smbc. Jewel Osment, the little lifesaver plant and Phal. stuartiana.

The next two are the Milt. Xenia's Cove. The blooms are a little old, but they still smell great!

The last four are the Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' FCC/AOS: the whole plant with spike, the neat foliage and the two nubins growing out (sorry about the blurry one).

We just got home a little while ago...me, Dana (irphrog) and her husband, my good friend LauraN and David (dgenovese1) met at the gardens and had a wonderful afternoon walking around, buying orchids and having a great time together!

What a blast!!!

I added 13 plants to the collection today, including gifts from friends

LOL...we all got some really cool stuff! Here's my list:

from Dana (irphrog):
Epi radicans
Den kingianum

From David (dgenovese1):

V. Derek Deville x V tessellata 'alba'
Myrc (C violacea x Mcp. tibiscinus)
Thw Dennis Kone x Rl digbayana)

I may have put those parentheses in the wrong places

and from the sale:
Schom undulata x B nodosa (blooming)
Tolu sylvestris
Phal lowii (blooming but the spike snapped)
Galeandra baueri (blooming)
Phal equestris...I just can't pass these up! (blooming)
Den spectabile
Enc phoenecia x C violacea
C. (Gertrude Hauserman x lobata) 'Volcano Queen'

I'll post pictures a little later

All the new orchids are wonderful but the best part of the past few days has been having Dana and her husband Scott staying with us and also meeting David at the sale. I was so happy my friend Laura was able to join us...we all had a lovely lovely day

Yes we did!!! I can't wait to get together for an afternoon of orchid shopping in Ocala....

Here's what I brought home: (16 plants total)

From Sue
Vanilla pompona
Smbc. Jewel Osment
Onc. Passionate 'Red Galaxy'
Den. Copper Queen
Phal. Stuartiana
Masd. Veitchiana 'Prince de Galle' x Masd. princeps
Den. loddigesii
Bc. Roman Holiday 'Mahagony Beauty'

From David
V. Derek Deville x V tessellata 'alba'
Myrc (C violacea x Mcp. tibiscinus)

From the show
Paph bellatulum (in bloom and bud)
L. Santa Barbara Sunset 'Peaches' (2 spikes)
Bulb. Doris Dukes (7 flowers and 1 spike)
Epc. Don Herman
Epi. porpax (loaded with buds)
Tolumnia sylvestris

Sue and her lovely husband were very sweet to let us stay with them and I won't even complain if I wind up getting a cold...it will just be a great reminder of the wonderful time we had!!! I still want to get a CD made of Laura's motivational "chats" to her collection....OMG!!!

It was great to meet David and fight with him over the last Paph bellatulum... ...I'll send you one for Christmas, David!!!

Am I reading this correctly? Seven flowers on 1 spike, or do you mean 7 flowers total, and one more spike to open? I ask because I have the same plant and when I got it, it only had 1 flower per spike. Since then it has increased to 2 flowers per spike and I have only split a tiny piece to give away. It had about 15 spikes last year and I am hoping for 25 or so this year. So, does yours have more than 2 flowers per spike? How large is it? I couldn't view the slideshow, so I don't know if it was pictured there.

Also, can you tell me what that last picture is of, the one that is growing on some sort of slab? It looks like both you and Sue got that one.

I wish i could have come traded plants with everyone and gone to the show. Maybe next time! I do have some things that need a good dividing.
