I have no problem with botanists thinking Orchis tubers looked like testicles. My concern is the drink made from powdered Orchis tubers that the Turkish call salep. Salep translates as 'fox testicles'. I'd have no problem if the drink was call 'testicles' but why specify they look like testicles from a specific animal. Furthermore who would seek culinary advice from someone experienced enough to make such a distinction.

That can result in a very uncomfortable condition know as "blue bulbs"
Sigh, its getting so one must have 'bulbs of brass' to get involved in some of these threads..........
