Well apparently sea turtles in upcoast Florida are laying their eggs in nests that are really high up the beach. A local guy said that only happens in the years hurricanes hit.

An excellent example of nature letting us know what is going on. If we paid more attention to what the animal kingdom is telling us we just might be able to save this planet yet. I'm afraid that isn't going to happen tho..........not as long as there is money to be made...

Looking forward to the report and photos. I'm going to send this thread to my friend in Hawaii who taught me the fun of roaming through the swamps many, many years ago. I still remember the "thrill" of having frightened gar fish bump into my legs in murky water.

jim,it was sweet after the almost hurricane that was suppose to be a hurricane,,,anyways didnt find new ghost but saw tons of other orchids now im seeing butterfly orchids everywhere no gators no snakes but heard some noises in swamps running around plus some real loud birds,,I think they didnt like me in there neighborhood,,I'll keep you guys up to date flhiker where you at?????????????

tempensis thick every where even found one good size one 10-miles east on 8-st,,,,,,,weird huh,terrain same water is bit higher ,,,,its ok ok you are going to get wet unless you stay on tram---777777

E. tempensis are all over the State. Mike has a neighbor that had property in the glades 20 years ago and he kept one. Heres what it looks like now.
