OMG please don't make me choose, for I will go truly mad!
Seriously, there are 320 crosses registered with B. nodosa as a parent.
Bc. Hippodamia - due to the spotting and lip color
Bc. Binosa - due to the green color and lip pattern
Bc. Maikai- due to the bowriginana color influence & lip pattern
Bl. Morning Glory - due to lip color and pattern
Oh sorry Al, did you say just one? Then my winner is.....
Bl. Morning Glory

Oscarman, That is an exceptionally nice Morning Glory!!
I have several nodosa's and their hybrids and for me, it would be a toss up between my Morning Glory (H&R variety I believe) and my nodosa ('Mas Mejor' x 'Big'). You can see pics of both of them in my gallery. I do, however, have a cross of nodosa x Enc. cordigera (the semi alba variety) and it is AWESOME! It blooms for me 2x per year (its actually blooming right now), takes all the color from the Encyclia parent but combines it with the nodosa shape. The best part about it though is the fact that at night it smell like nodosa and in the morning it smells like cordigera!! Two TOTALLY different smells at different times of day!! I have yet to encounter any other orchid that does that. Sorry for the rant, just thought you should know!!

Rant away! That is the type of really cool info I like.
I actually prefer the garden variety species plant. Mine blooms freely, at least twice a year, and the smell is lovely. It's got 2 new sheaths on it right now. A hybrid I have considered is B. David Sander. Love the shape of the lip.
Again, thanks to everyone for the help.
I've narrowed it down to 2 and may have to go with both.... but I think the first one will be B. nodosta with the 2nd being Bl. Morning Glory.
Guess I'll see if the B nodosta likes me first. Now to find a nice one at a price I can afford.
