Interested in trading Hubby for more orchids
So my husband decided that I needed an intervention and said that I was on orchid restriction . He wasn't crazy about my reaction.
Then he pulled my daughter into the "act" and they both told me that I really needed to be able to talk to people about something other than orchids... funny, I wasn't aware that there was anything else to talk about
So, I'm wondering if I could interest anyone in man that is a pretty good cook and handy around the house for some interesting orichds that won't talk back to me....I'm not worried about my daughter, she's moving in 3 weeks to go to college....

I share your feelings, but in reverse. My wife at least says she has a passing interest and doesn't say anything when I buy more orchids, but she rolls her eyes when I start up a conversation with others about my orchids.

I am so sorry, Dana. I soooo share your pain.
Everyone around me is sick of me talking about orchids too, and they do not share in my happiness when I receive a box of erin pottery either. It's dampening my fun and making me feel really sad.
I truly madly deeply love my orchids. All I can say is thank goodness, no one has had the nerve to object to my visiting the orchid board.
They'd better straighten up quick or they're going to see MUTINY, up close and real personal-like!

LOL...when I start talking orchids, my husband joins the conversation with made up words in place of the orchid names. It's usually when he's around for one of Laura and/or Linda's visits
As I write this, I see it doesn't look like it's something that's really funny, but take my word...it is hilarious!
He has his poker games and I have my orchids...which works out well for me when he's a winner for the day

At least I have no one to fuss at me for buying orchids. I know my husband would not have been the least bit interested in my conversations about orchids.
The only one I can talk to freely about orchids is my niece in Florida. Her Mother, my sister, thinks it is a foolish addiction. It sure beats a few other addictions that I know of.
Isn't it great that we have other friends on the forum who are equally as addicted as we are. They help save our sanity, and keep us from talking to ourselves.....

But when I ask him what did i say he just stares at me and shrugs his shoulders then laughs He is so goofy. But still I love him to death

Dana, LOL! You are too funny! But I would not react well if I were put on an orchid restriction either! My husband is more of the benign disinterested type. It took him months to realise that I had substituted the old aquarium set up that I had for the Exo tank.
But as far as talking to him about orchids, that's a complete non-starter. He's not a plant person at all. My cat, on the other hand, hear's all about each little development in each plant! LOL! Thank goodness for OrchidBoard and all of the great people here - otherwise, the men with the little white coats would have picked me up long ago!
