Sandy, that first phal that doesn't open all the way is exactly like one I have. Do you have a name for it? Do you know why it doesn't open all the way? I've always wondered. At first I was upset, but I've grown to really love it.
Thanks everyone for the compliments.
Al, that garden you mention is just my back bank with lupine everywhere. It was an awful bank that wouldn't grow anything. We spent alot of time trying to get something to grow there, then gave up and just put some of my Father-in-law's hay down to keep it from falling. Well, turned out that lupine seeds were all through the hay! It's been a lupine paradise now for 15 years now! Spectacular colors of blues, pinks, reds, and whites!
Serendipity or what?
I have 5 perennial gardens that I will post pics of soon, if you'd like. They are coming on nicely now.

Kiki - I believe that formation is called 'lettuce leaf'.
I am going to refer you back to this past thread you had posted in - Help with Phal ID

Kiki - Please post your gardens in the Outdoorsie Stuff threads that Gloria (lagoon) or I have started
They would be a welcome addition
