To all the OB members in Florida, all of us here wish you well. Remember, homes and plants can be replaced, lives can't. If you are asked to evacuate please do. Hopefully you have made some preperations. Stay safe and don't forget the pets outside..........bring them in for some fresh air if need be.
For all of those of you in the middle part of our country that are looking out your windows and listening for the warning sirens, our thoughs and prayers are with you. Keep safe!

Al from Bird Song Farm and all of us here who are lucky enough to not have to worry about fires and the strange weather.

Thank you Bird Song for you thoughtful words. My father-in-law is merely a couple miles from the devastation with bags pack and ready to roll when needed. Stinky here in Orlando with a touch of smoke, under control at this point. Our thoughts and prays go out to our neighboring counties.

That's great news! Let's hope they get the other(s) soon. I'm sure they have some ideas as to who, they just have to see them do it.
Take care,
Al

Wow, I have had my head in the sand for a while now. Had no idea it was this bad. To purposefully start a fire that can potentially become life threatening and destroy homes and livelihoods is very wrong. Lets hope that the person they got really did start the fire and didn't just happen to be littering right before the fire started. What you guys got to ask yourselves is why so much combustible was available to begin with. A program of small controlled fires over years would have been sufficient to prevent this sort of disaster. I don't know if Florida does this or not, but I'm guessing it does not.

Tin, we actually do have burn control programs here but unfortnately I cannot begin to explain why they weren't launched this season. I'm sure there's some irrational political reason...

Our prayers are with those families -

Good news, not as many homes damaged as thought. Thank goodness they caught one of these blithering idiots. I hope they throw the book at this jerk.
