Default Clean-Up Crew

I was lucky enough to see this guy doing his job
and lucky enough to snap the picture. Seems that he liked the dew drops on my phals yesterday. I was actually able to get quite close but my camera wouldn't focus so this is what I got. Cute, isn't he??

Very cool! Until I move to a warmer climate, I guess I'll just have to make do with spiders, hornets and wasps helping me out with gardening chores. Thanks for posting the wonderful pics of your new pal.

LOL...we have dozens of them! They live happily in the orchid room...jumping out of a plant when I'm misting and scaring the *^(* out of me

I love having them around...just need to make sure the dogs don't get them, the tails will make them sick.

Thanks for posting your pics, Lorraine

Sue, I HATE these little 'dragon's in my GH!! As they have tipped over about 20 of my smaller pots (plastic)!! Walk in and have a whole row lying on the floor, all spilled out and broken orchids I'm seriously looking for a way to keep them out!! I used to blame squirrels for doing this, as I had open windows. Then I got smart finally, and screened my windows, no squirrels possible, AND IT WAS STILL HAPPENING! Then I witnessed it, by the little 'dragons', we call them!! Now I put all the plastic pots into clay pots, for more wieght from these little buggers jumping on every plant they see!!

And whats with the tails, making my doggies sick??

Hi Jackie, it would be best for you to put the pots in clay pots rather than get rid of the lizards. They do much more good than harm...eating any of the little pests that some folks have no way to get rid of! My husband wanted to get rid of them because of the dogs but I've learned to keep an eye on where the dogs are and how interested they are at something on the ground and for the most part, the orchid room is basically pest-free.

I was always told that their tails are poisonous. After moving here, I did some research and found they're not actually poisonous but they will upset the dog' stomachs. Since Samantha already has a sensitive stomach, we make sure she and the Anoles never get too close to each other. They haven't caught Lucas's attention yet

Ok, thanks Sus!! Just wanted to make sure my best friend Jake doesn't die from those little monsters down here!! As he leaves them alone, but the cat and other little dogs bring them in the house all the time, and usually the tails are missing!
