Default Here's Mine

I am particulary proud of my Pot. Hawaiian Prominence 'Carmela'. This was my 2nd orchid, purchased about 4 years ago and this is it's first rebloom. I had to google it to see what it looked like!

In Bloom:

Epi. Pak Girl x Pacific Embers - all flowers open. Looks like it is going to start a new bract. Sending up a new growth too.
Den. Frosty Dawn –11 flowers open.
P. NOID White Magenta Lip – 6 blooms, last opened 4/10
P. NOID Birthday White – 13 flowers open, 1 more to go on double spikes.
Paph. lemianum purchased in Feb. at WOS . First bud dropped, second opened. Third on it's way
Den. NOID nobile – 3 flowers
Pot. Hawaiian Prominence ‘Carmela’ – 2 beautiful red flowers. Have had this for 4 years, 1st rebloom for me
Dtps. Malibu Merlot – If all the buds open it will have 10-11 flowers on a relatively short spike
Milt. NOID – 2 beautiful red flowers with white waterfall. First rebloom for me.
Blc. Haw Yuan Beauty ‘Spice Girl’ – one bud blasted, the other has opened but was deformed. The sepals were only in 2 sections instead of 3. It was never able to open all the way, but even so the fragrance is outrageous.
Paph. sukhakulii – Purchased in early April in bloom
Phal. Brother Sara Gold – Purchased early April in bloom
Tolu. Genting ‘Volcano’ – Purchased early April in bloom

In Spike:

Phal. bellina – growing 2 new spikes. Existing spike is still green but showing no signs of blooming
Phal. equestris - growing a Keiki, and is now sending up a new spike
Den. Paskel Kuning ‘Hawaii’ – looks like it will have 6 flowers. First rebloom for me, sending up a new growth
C. Chocolate Drop ‘Volcano Queen’ - new growth has a sheath!
Paph. Magic Lantern – Purchased in early April, now spiking with double buds
Phrag. Jason Fisher – Purchased in early April, now spiking

Wow.. lots going on! I too can't wait to see photos of your C Chocolate Drop. If there were any Catts which would temp me into growing Catts - it would be this one, or one of the spotted species, I think! I'll also be watching for photos of your Phrag. Jason Fisher!

Ross, I can't wait to see your Dendrobium moniliformes in bloom - please post pics!! I'm trying to decide if I want to get one myself. You can help enable me!!

I took notes of what's happening here when I watered everything this past weekend. Just haven't had a chance to type it in yet... I'll get to it in the next couple of days and post my report.

Shannon, I've been following along with the Erin pottery craze. The baby Dens look great in the pots. Won't that be a sight if they all decide to bloom at the same time? I like how you've grouped them together on the round tray. Very nice!

Your unicum is too cool! I remember you were wondering if yours was a hybrid because it was so much larger than everyone elses. Doesn't look like a hybrid to me now that the flowers are open.

Gwen, wow! Lots of Neo action at your house! Can't wait to see

Ross, Thanks! The Leptotes is the first time flowering of a young plant, so even though it is only one flower, I'm happy with that! And you should have seen me when I first noticed those red roots on Max. picta... I must have stood there for about 20 minutes just looking at them.

Terri, yes, I was definitely bitten by the Erin Pottery bug! I think its going to be awesome when they flower! Being seedlings of a red x orange cross, I'm hoping for quite a variety of flower colour. You're right, its going to be quite a sight when they flower - I'm really looking forward to that!! (If you look at the labels, I named each little seedling after a woman in King Arthur/Holy Grail legends. Because each one had unique characteristics and were so different from each other, I felt that they deserved to be treated as individuals.)

I am going to look for a larger tray to keep them on. I like them grouped - I'm glad you agree! - but they way they are, there is not enough air circulation coming up through the bottom of the pots - even though the pots have big holes in the bottom! So, I'll get a larger tray where they can be spread out more which will let the air move around better.

Thanks for letting me know what you think about Den. unicum! I guess I just have a big one?! Both of the big canes have started new growths, so I guess I'll see if they continue to be tall, or if they got so big because they were extremely well grown at the nursery! There are now 4 flowers open, and 20+ more flowers to come!! Can't tell you how pleased I am with this one!

Gwen, Have you posted pics of your 'Shutenno'?? I'd love to see that spike!
