Birthday Order!
Happy birthday to me! I ordered these allegedly fragrant orchids from Ecuagenera, most of them are not so common. I also ordered a Coelogye Unchained Melody from another vendor.
If any of you fine people have experience / advice to share about any of these orchids, it would be appreciated
Thanks
Stelis pusilla
Stelis cajanumae
Eria javanica
Laelia albida
Masdevallia cyclotega
Masdevallia ludibunda
Miltoniopsis roezlii xanthina

Well - you ordered cool, intermediate and hot growers. Do some reading.
The Eria is an easy hot grower. It lives in mangrove swamps - sea level in the hot tropics. You can mount it and water daily or put it into a pot.
The Laelia albida entry on IOSPE is a little misleading. It gets a very cool, very bright and very dry winter, but a summer with hot days, cooler nights, and lots of rain.
The others are cold to cool growers.

Thanks ES. Temp is not an issue, I have an intermediate-very warm grow space, and a cool-intermediate space.. Anything needing hot or cold go outside or into the winter greenhouse over winter (45).
Sounds like albida will work well outside / winter greenhouse.

I always get orchids or other plants for myself for my birthday, too. Opening a box of plants or orchids always makes me feel five years old again.

Claw- Unchained Melody is an awesome plant. I personally do not have one but way back when, a member of the New Hampshire Society had a beautiful specimen of it that got divided and I think just about everyone in the Society ended up with a piece of it.
It always bloomed just in time for the annual show and was often the centerpiece of the show between the size, number of flowers and the insane fragrance.
Enjoy, you've got a good one there.

Happy birthday : -)
my Laelia albida is very happy mounted. As stated above, a very cool winter with less -but not 'no' water. In nearly full sun in summer, hanging in tree. Almost bomb-proof for me in Massachusetts.
Best,
Maryanne
