I so enjoyed another OS meeting today. I bought an itty bitty Phal. Formosa Dream 'Sweetheart' for way more than I should have spent, but it had such a pretty picture of what the blooms would look like and she said it was easy to care for.
"She" was the model / speaker / orchid seller and it turns out I bought my second ever orchid from her this winter. So neat.
I enjoyed chatting with lots of people and then Carrie (the orchid seller speaker genius) spoke. She did a slide show and explained SO much about multi spiked mini Phals. I learned they are considered so because they branch off, have tons of blooms, and those blooms are under 3". They can be traced back to like 3 or 4 different main parents.... I found some I adored. THEN she showed a very blue bloomed orchid and one of the other members yelled out that she had some for sale in the back. Can you all guess what happened? The OS President went and got one immediately. I was in the back and only saw 2 and I knew everyone would want one and............... so I finally grabbed it. Turns out there was one more and someone grabbed that one too. And I spend way too much for that one too.
Dtps. Fire Cracker 'Blue Martini'....
Yeah, fun day.
I came home and looked for pics of the blooms and the 'Sweetheart' Phal looks just like lobbii and Mini Mark and.... well, you know, the same sort of colors and size and..... I'm afraid it's not the pretty coloring I saw in her pics....

Ok done rambling.

So glad you are enjoying the meetings, Tik!
I've not been able to make the last couple. Hopefully in October!
