Other members have been having trouble with this issue too. We have escalated it to the owner of the forum, in hopes that he can figure it out. I suspect that we're looking at the effects of old software and some browser "upgrade" that broke something. Advice from here... write your message offline (like in Word), copy and paste the whole thing into your post and hit the Submit button. But this isn't something that we control...we're trying to figure out how to fix it. It doesn't affect everybody... which makes it just that much harder to diagnose. So be patient... and keep what you have written in an offline place so that you can get it back.

I've had issues similar to this in the past, whether an Orchidboard issue or something with my I-pad. I found the easiest fix is to type my message out in Notepad or some other editor and then cut and paste it into your Orchidboard message box.

I've been mildly annoyed with the short time that OB will keep me logged in since I joined. I just got into the habit of copying my post/reply to the clipboard before hitting the "post" button. That way if it kicks me out I just paste it back in after logging back in. Would be great if they could increase it at least 30 minutes of inactivity before auto log off.

I seem to be able to stay logged in permanently. When you log in, do you see a "Remember me" check box? When I check it, I don't get logged out even when I close the browser and leave. I had that even before I became a Mod, but it could be browser-dependent. Another thing that seemed to help... I connect to the site using http://www.orchidboard.com/community . I had all sorts of problems when I used the https:// version, several years back. But on my phone (Android) I just go for orchidboard.com/community which probably does get the https. version, and the "remember me" still works to keep me logged in. On my desktop, it's Windows 10.

So long as I check the "Keep me logged in" box when I log in, I am kept logged in indefinitely on an Android phone and a Linux desktop. I wonder whether there is a setting buried in the user control panel?

I looked at my own record in the user control panel, don't see a setting for Keep Me Logged In . It just does, in Windows and Android. (I don't get as much of a view as Administrator do, so maybe there's more) For those who are having trouble with this (and for some, it's a recent development like within the last month or two), what is your operating system? It might help if we can narrow it down to the Apple ecosystem... (iPhone, iPad, desktop Mac?) or if there are other factors.

My experience is exactly this with the same equipment.
