Want to see a 1940-50s era Cattleya corsage? The wedding scene in The Godfather shows the mother wearing two semialba blossoms and the bride (Talia Shire) has a bouquet with several big whites.

If you don't have the movie you can go to YouTube "THE GODFATHER - Commentary by Francis Ford Coppola" and see them in still pictures.

What are some other movies with orchids in them other than background tabletop Phalaenopsis?

You mean 1970s. The first one was released in 1972. In the 30s and 40s seasonal Catt species were often used for corsages. At prom time in 1974 I could only find Cymbidium corsages.
