Anyone going to Tamiami 2022/Pick up question?

Hello all,

I have not been active on the board for a while but am still very much growing orchids. I hope a post like this is okay. If not please move or delete. I was not quite sure what the right thread for this was.

Is anyone from OB going to Tamiami 2022 in May?
I always want to go but never get a chance to.

There is a particular vendor from Taiwan that has a plant I want but unfortunately they do not ship from the show.

I still have to check with the vendor if they still have what I want but, if anyone is interested and was going to the show already, I would pay for the cost of the plant and shipping + a little extra to have the plant picked up and shipped to me.

i am on the fence- i love a good show but i know i will spend $$ that is not ear marked for orchids lol


if no one else is going to the show i will revisit attending as it gets closer

what is the ordering deadline to have the plant at the show?

Hello DC,

I am sorry that I took so long to respond. I was waiting for the vendor to get back to me. It seems that orchid vendors are notorious for not returning emails at this point. The last order date is apparently April 17th. No need to go just on my account.

Well, with the direction Covid is taking I am more inclined than ever but still undecided. Sorry I can’t lock it down for you

I will say this, if you ask if the seller will be bringing any of this plant any ways? Then if I go I can just buy it for you and send it

Hello DC,

It seems they charge shipping to bring plants to the show so I think that if I order them, I have to commit to getting them.

I am emailing them again so they can clarify what they mean when they say they charge shipping upfront.

Thank you again though for offering to get them if you do go to the show.
