That IS shocking and horrible!
I *hate* when things like that happen. Like being shocked and saddened over someone I never knew dying.
Sucks.

Who would have thought he'd fall victim to a sting ray. I always thought he was crazy, but I liked him too.
I guess thats what everyone liked about him.
The news of his death in on European and Spanish TV as well.

We have lost a great Ambassador. I guess was a man who lived his life on the edge?

This saddens me to hear of a great man with an enormous scale of knowledge and such courage in which mankind either condemned him or spoke of him as a messenger for mankind. He will be missed.

Something like this tragedy just goes to show you...when your number is up, it's up!
From what I've read since first hearing about it, he had taken a day off from filming because of bad weather and was diving recreationally when it happened.
I feel bad that he left behind a young wife and 2 very young children.

He was certainly the epitome of 'hands on' when it came to his passion. I could not believe the news when a friend told me - very much a freak occurrence - stingray barbs rarely kill.
