"Root porn" is a common colloquialism used across many platforms and for many plant groups other than orchids. I would fight tooth and nail to maintain the thread name "root porn." This might be the only time on OB where I think Ray is way off base.

I'll take that as a cue to post my latest bulbs, I have picked this one because of it's impressive size

It means a lot to me (the small one in front) as it is my dendrobium parishii which I have been struggling with and will be for many more years but for the first time in a long time there is signs of life.

The Cymbidium behind it is also special though because I showed it recently as this one, look how well it has developed in just the past 6 weeks:

We have members posting from countries where such is illegal and is punished with Draconian penalties. I think it's better to avoid using terms like that in thread titles.

In the 80s when political correctness was born, I thought it was silly. I did not like that anyone would tell me how to act.

However. In todays climate of hate and division, I am happy to censor myself in order to be more inclusive, more sensitive and more accommodating. It costs me nothing to be considerate

if a mod will please change my porn thread to:
"Dirty Coconuts presents: the flora and fauna of the Coconuts Compound"

Since joining this board I have acquired a lot of respect for you, DC. This decision is yours alone. And while I never had a problem with the title, as I got the joke, your decision to have the name changed should effectively put the subject to rest. Good call.
As an aside, your comment on PC prompted me to do a little digging. Here is an interesting article on the history of political correctness.

Hey! I appreciate that! It’s mutual

I try to be better every day. I used to think that meant being right about facts but more and more I learn it is about how I make other people feel. about me, about themselves and about the thing we are talking about.

I will also add that the root porn thread is especially fitting for the joke! It is all penises! I hope no one is offended and that we all go look at some tasteful flower pics!
