ORCHID Tour Trip and discovery during Covid restrictions

I have a few days of vacatios, not a normal situation for me, normally I go away in long trips in spring, winter, but I can scape by myself without kids to anywhere I want (...pitch me I am dreaming )

Since I have just a few days and so many restriction are placed to travel out or into Europe and on top of that not orchid shows has been organized, I was thinking in make a nurseries tour maybe in Germany or Dutchland.


I usually go to South Asia or South America in combination with other leasure actives with my family, I never considered to do any orchid route in Europe. (Except to Holland long ago).
And my red line is going to explore hills and orchid in the wild since is SO 🥵 HOT! That won't work for me.

Any idea or advice ...???

Much of South America and Mexico has cooler but not cold winters, with little or no rain. That is when most orchid tours go. Of course South America is mostly in the Southern Hemisphere, so winter there is summer in Mallorca. If you go on tours to see cloud forest species you will not need to worry about being hot. There are a lot of ecotour companies taking people into orchid habitat in Mexico and South America.

The Orchid Conservation Alliance is a US charitable organization devoted to preserving natural habitat for orchids. They arrange habitat trips to see orchids in the wild. The next one will be to Switzerland in June 2022. There will be a maximum of 16 participants.
