Central Ohio Orchid Society Plant of the Year Contest!

This year the Central Ohio Orchid Society responded to the pandemic in many ways, including moving to a Virtual Show Table format. Members submitted pictures of their blooming orchids, and each month we gave virtual ribbon awards for first, second, and third place in each orchid category, and we selected a Plant of the Month.

This year we are taking it a step further, and will award a “Plant of the Year”! And we need your vote!

The public will select from the twelve 2020 Plants of the Month, PLUS all first-place ribbon-winning plants from April to December (when we began the virtual show table)--a total of 69 plants! The winning plant’s owner will receive a one-year paid membership with the American Orchid Society, courtesy of COOS.

That is a pretty cool idea! I will have to take a look!
The Greater Akron Orchid has been doing Zoom Meetings and a virtual show table, too. It is a fun way to get together in a safe way. I really look forward to the meetings every month. So glad your society is doing it, too!

That is great. Glad you guys have been doing well. One of the benefits of Zoom meetings is we have been getting some international speakers and others who are too far to travel in. We have also been putting the virtual show table in our newsletters since last spring which has been fun.
