I got to name a hybrid! Male
Default I got to name a hybrid!

Hello all,

I am now going to have a hybrid named after me.

It is a beautiful Masdevallia hybrid of ——

Nope. Just kidding. I would never have one of those wretched, death-bound things named for me.

My namesake plant is a yellowish green Rhyncholaeliocattleya. I happened upon an auction from Chadwick and Son’s that included the RHS naming for one of their new hybrids. I could not resist.

That's a clever business strategy ....... having auctions of unregistered hybrids and the winner gets to name it. Nice one.

Great choice too. I'm a chartreuse fan!!

I named it Gabriel’s Green Trumpet. Much to my surprise, now that it has arrived, the flowers are actually quite yellow. It was yellowish green but it is in fact greenish yellow. Either way, I am ecstatic to have it.
