Default "Ghost Ship"

We live in a rural part of the world, right on the Atlantic Intracoastal Water Way. Pitch black at night, but we often see the shrimpers coming by.

Very nice pic!

While I am torn as a free dive spear fisherman and long time lover of the sea, about trawlers and net fishing in general, they are really cool looking boats and I do love me some shrimp....

They mostly stick within a thousand yards of shore here. However, the brilliant minds here in NC allow seining in the Pamlico Sound, an estuary that is the "food chain's nursery", so they screw it up like mad.

and i am sure a lot of the captains are your neighbors and friends....the real issue, as you identified, is in the resource management....or MIS-management.

i have worked on commercial fishing boats ( a life time ago in the upper keys for summer work) so i see both sides and it is a real Sh1t pickle

NC has one of the best fisheries on the east coast, but is publicly acknowledged as having the worst management.
