75 degrees here today and my daughter is planting peas and spinach. I feel your pain. Been there done that. We seem to be ducking all the storms here lately.

Thought I'd post a couple pics of my Den. showing where it blasted at the apex a few months ago, and the new spike growing out from under the last leaf. The plant was on my bottom shelf with the other tall plants and I think it may have gotten too cold (low 60's at night, mid - hi 60's day) causing the spike to blast before it ever really got started. When I rearranged things to accomodate my spiking Phals it ended up on the top shelf. It's a few degrees warmer up there and gets lots of light. Anybody got a different theory?

Oooh Kat! Tell us what you bring home!
I remember last year when I only had 10 chids. Now I think I have around 40+, and I've given some away! I'm running out of room quickly. Maybe the birthday fairy will bring me an orchidarium? Probably being too optimistic!

Terri, That re-spike is amazing! Thanks for showing us! What a great little Den! I, too, remember when I just had a dozen - was it just over a year ago, and before I joined Orchid Board?!!? I remember just about the time of the first project I participated in, have 40-odd. There was a poll at that time about how many orchids were in your collection.... Well, I've tripled that now, and I still have more to come. Good grief!! It sure has been fun!
Kat - tell us what you got!!

I distinctly remember being asked how many chids I had about 2 yrs ago...and my answer being 58! I thought then...This is getting crazy!
Shannen, your blooms are gorgeous!
Kat, we're waiting patiently to hear what you got!

this time last year I can remember thinking 60 is way to many I should cut back. I went through and counted while I watered thurs morning. I was shocked at 171. I really need to update my list on here. I think when I hit 200 I need to stop til next spring.....hopefully thats when a greenhouse will spring out of my yard and I can move all my chids out there.
