You can read lecture notes I took on Tolumnias when nurseryman Daryl Venable of Tezula Plants spoke to our society last September. Use the Search function | Advanced Search in the top maroon menu and enter the terms DVOS and Tezula.

This is Jairak Flyer 'Salmon.' It opened yesterday and it's not what I expected either. It looks a lot like Red Sun. At least too much like it. So, I'm disappointed too.

If you were to visit Hauserman's, all the Tolumias are (as one would expect) on the same bench. It would be very easy for them to get mixed up, labeled or not.

I ordered from Tezula Orchids and was very happy with their Tolumnias. If we want a sure type, maybe that's a better source (don't get me wrong, I love Hauserman's).

It's beautiful!! I love red colors so much on orchids. Sorry it wasn't what you wanted though. It can be really frustrating to not get what you ordered (even if it was just an accident).

What you said about Hauserman's makes sense-- I believe that's where I got it!! I just got two new ones from Tezula as well-- 'Dalmatian' and 'Soft Pink' and they both came in spike definitely happy. At this point, I'm just proud they're alive and growing (knock on wood).

I know I got Dalmation, Corona and White Beauty. Maybe in the spring you'd like to do a little trading.
