I noticed the coloration of the leaves and was going to mention. Got sidetracked. Mine actually look better in winter than summer. But I have them on a mist timer in winter, with a fan. Summertime, not. Am thinking seriously about not moving them outside this upcoming summer. The timer does a great job of always remembering to water. I am sometimes... ahem... lacking on that remember thing.

And Dolly... I'd not second-guess the way you grow tolumnia. They're already pretty darned perfect. Some can grow Tol. in S/H... many cannot. It's one of the ones more struggle with that have success with. If ya wanna experiment, I'd work with something you struggle with, not your tolumnia.

Now, having said that, you'll probably get even more gorgeous ones with your first attempt.

Nope, I'm sticking to my method. But Subrosa's is intriguing. I have a couple ready to divide as they're pouring out of 4" pots. I love the little teapot idea.

The people I've seen have most success with Tolumnias in S/H tend to grow in areas with low humidity, like here in metro Phoenix.

Hmmmm. Perhaps another reason why mine do better indoors in winter, and not as well outdoors in summer. Very humid here in summer.

#1 buggy. #2 my neglectful watering practices. #3 the space they take up is the least of my worries.
