Oncidium ciliatum Male
Default Oncidium ciliatum

We got this plant several years ago, as Onc. barbatum. Has blooms regularly most years at this time for us. Fairly easy to take care of. Takes extremes in temperatures, low 50F to 100F, water every few days when dry, even in winter. Dappled bright light to mostly shade (blooms better in more sun) 40-80% humidity. Small compact grower that will stay in the pot or grows well mounted. Have grown it both ways with good success.

That does look tiny & easy to find room for it in a collection, especially if mounted. Like a lot of Oncdiums, it also sounds like it's very adaptable to different growing conditions.

I like the flowers, nice bars and bright colors. That tri-lobed lip is really interesting, too.

I'm assuming this isn't fragrant?

No fragrance, but the bloom is fairly long lived. The single bloom has been in bloom since the first week of October, and still looks good today. Not bad for this little guy.
