Psychopsis query ...
I've always thought Psychopsis flowers were pretty neat and toy around with the idea of trying one now and again. But one of the traits I would like the plant itself to have is well mottled leaves. I have seen some that did, and others that didn't. So here's my Q (or Qs) .... Is there a particular species or hybrid that generally has heavily mottled leaves or does it vary greatly by individual plant or is it a matter of the light conditions in which it is grown?

I think it's all of the above. From my reading more light leads to more spots, but individuals vary a lot.

Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' FCC/AOS is worth buying for the leaves.

I second leafmite, psychosis Mendenhall ‘Hildos’ FCC/AOS has awesome leaves. Give it bright dappled light and keep it moist, not soggy, in the warmer months and dryer in the colder months. I think you will be pleased with this one.

Psychopsis Mendenhall 'Hildos' FCC/AOS
I had a thread elsewhere (S/H) about this particular orchid, as I was recently gifted it and knew nothing. I went with potting in S/H. No flowers, but a new little growth, and wonderful leaf pattern:

It's a matter of light.

(Dialalia Northland 'Snow Flake,' which ages pink. On the right is Tolumnia 'Red Barry.' I posted the Dialalia a couple months ago. The tolumnia just opened.) My point was the mottling on the Psychopsis and the two spikes. It's under a set of 4 t5s.

Thanks for the input, folks!
So Dolly, is yours a Mendenhall 'Hildos' also?

It as sold to me as that but, the tag must have slipped into the pot, or become lost. Why do you ask?
