Carmela Orchids and H&R Nurseries both had large displays at the Tamiami show, including dozens each of dozens of different Oncidium mericlones in flower. They were in 3.25" / 8.25cm pots. I have ordered a big-box special from Carmela's before, and it shipped with three of these of Oncidium mericlones.

But these plants are not shown on either company's Web site. I inquired about them. H&R replied they do not sell them online. Carmela's sent an out-of-office until mid February reply.

Do they import these in spike for shows? When people visit their retail areas in Hawaii, do they have them for sale?

I want to get some for a good friend who has a birthday coming up, but I can only find individual plants here and there. Are there any nurseries specializing in these? If not, where do they all come from?

Akatsuka Orchid Gardens always has a pretty good selection of Oncidium and Odontoglossum hybrids in spike, and I've been very happy with everything I have bought from there. I don't know if that's helpful or not, but that's all I know.

Kalapana Tropicals also has a good Oncidium selection, but my satisfaction with the things I've bought from there has varied.
