Finally got this to bloom after ten years. The plant fills a two gallon pot. This summer we gave all our intergenetic hybrids more water. They seem to have responded well to keeping them aliitle wetter.

Many of the intergenerics with a lot of Miltonia and Brassia in the background will quite happily accept frequent, heavy watering especially if grown warm and in bright conditions. I even grow some of my Miltonias like I grow my Phrags, leaving a small amount of water in the saucer for them to soak in between waterings.

For my conditions, I find that the main solution to flower a mature-sized but reluctant blooming Oncidium intergeneric is to increase the amount of light the plant receives, even if it's only a temporary thing such as setting the plant outside during the warmer months.

Anyway, now that your plant has given in and started blooming, it's more likely to continue blooming regularly. However, if not and without knowing how you're growing it, my next recommendation is to give it more light.

It's a very pretty flower for sure. I'm a sucker for bars and stripes. I love the subdued chartreuse background color on the sepals and petals, and the fact that the lip is a crisp clean white instead of pink/purple. Very lovely hybrid.
