NoID Miltoniopsis

Miltoniopsis do well here indoors as room temperatures rarely exceed 20C (68F), I bought this a couple of years ago from Ikea, it usually has a spike or two and is highly fragrant.

Very pretty. Our IKEA only has phals. Looks like it needs a lot of water.

I have it in fine bark and water it until it's very wet twice a week, the leaves still pleat , which I think may be due to ambient humidity as the roots never dry out.

Must be Miltoniopsis Herr Alexander. I have one too that is currently also blooming.

I agree about miltoniopsis doing well in the UK indoors. People say they're fussy/demanding but I actually find them easier than phals. Our climate must be well-suited to them.

Very nice flowers! I have tried several times to keep a miltoniopsis, but they never do well and eventually die. Most of those attempts were back when I was living in France (quite far south), so it's probably the heat and dry air which killed them. I should try again, Dutch climate isn't too different from the UK!

Try using pure sphagnum, they love it! Mine had amazing roots in that, no root rot. They seemed a bit shy to send out roots into bark on its own. I'm experimenting with semi hydro as well and that is also going well.
