This is what I think too. We had an unusual warm spring and first half of summer, mostly the night tº were higher. As the spike took very long to develop, the tº might have affected the colours, favouring brown and reducing yellow.
The plant isn't very strong anyway. The two first flowers come from the same node, on of the flowers has an odd deformity. The flowers are still expanding and look nice, though 'very brown'.
There are some 'fake'-Goodale Moir's around there, too. Plants that are actually 'Sunset' or some other seldom Milmiltonias. Nice flowers, too.
