Seriously glad your mule ear bloomed. They are great plants but, huge! Good you can keep yours outside.
Psst . . . Although O. ampliatum is a large plant, it isn't a "mule ear". AFAIK, the mule ears are in genus Trichocentrum, such as T. splendidum, along with the "rat-tails". Plants in the genus Lophiaris are also considered mule ears.
