Sorry, just had to share my little story. He does have a different girlfriend now and I think it's a much healthier, more mature relationship.

I didn't keep in touch with the old GF, so I probably won't be teaching her about orchids. Oh well, nothing much lost.

Oncidiums don't seem to like me either, Marilyn. My rescued phal and most of my other orchids seem to love me, but my super huge healthy twinkle that I bought almost died on me. I think I underwatered the poor thing. But it's been growing ever since, pbulbs AND roots, so we'll see how it does in another year or so.

I love the color and scent on this oncidium, these things drink like tanks. I now keep mine is mostly peatmoss.

It's good to be bad.

I hadn't realized how much water some oncidiums need. My Twinkle is the first oncidium I've ever had. I thought with those big pbulbs that it would be more drought tolerant, but I guess the really defining traits are the thin leaves and roots. Live and learn!
