It's the watering issue. They really do need to be watered every day, and on hot days, twice per day is better. Like the Vandas.

If it's hot, don't give them full sun. The few that grow in full sun in the wild are right at the sea coast, or at higher elevation, where it's cooler and there's always a breeze to carry the heat off the leaves.

My Rodrumnia Love Bird 'Pucky' received a Certificate of Recognition (CR) from the Honolulu Orchid Society judging panel at meeting last night (Feb 27, 2017). The flowers are on a long, branching inflorescence.

Easy to see why it won the award, it is a beauty! Pardon my ignorance but, Tolumnia + what makes up its lineage?

Rodriguezia x Tolumnia

Both are small to smallish epiphytes in the Oncidium alliance, from Central America on south.

There is a prominent Web site you might find that misspells Rodriguezia with a Q instead of a G.

The flower spike is 22 inches tall which is probably not a good trait for breeding.
