for the life of me i can't spot the "bulb" part on this one, but it's a little clump of leaves about 1.5" long, so i assume one will eventually "solidify" under them

I just picked up a twinkle the other day as well. I would like to re-pot it, but wasn't sure of the timing. I assume that I should wait until blooming is done correct? Should I wait until I see some root growth as well? Finally, any suggestions for getting it out of the plastic pot with slits? This little guy has roots growing out of the pot everywhere and I am worried about damaging the root system. Thanks so much!

i repotted mine when i had one branch of flowers left (mostly because i had time and knew i wouldn't up ahead). It had tons of roots so i wasn't too worried about new growth and i just put it into S/H straight. It's doing fine so far. The flowers finished falling off probably faster than they would've otherwise.
You can always try to water / soak for 30 min before to try to soften the roots to get them out. You can always cut the pot... or cut the roots only so many ways out of it i figure, right?

Thanks irrka! I think I will try to soak it and see if that will help. I have cut the plastic pots when re-potting some of my phals and always ended up with root damage. I was hoping to avoid that. Thanks for the suggestions!

update: mine's sprouted some more tiny shoots. seems to be dealing with S/H ok. (just going through the water faster than all my other plants--sometimes you get so thirsty!)

Sorry, but I would vote with Jerry. We grow a lot of onc. here in the South and they do like to be root bound.
Who knows you just may succeed with your mount. Not being an expensive orchid it's worth a try.

I'll be going with a small clay pot, just a little bigger than the one it's in. And I plan to use a bark mix for seedlings with a little spaghnum mixed in.

So, my vote. . .is repot it once the blooms have all fallen and you begin to see new growth emerging. That tells me that it's got the energy burst to make the transition to the new pot with its full strenth.

Just a Twinkle Repotting Update!

I did transplant the little noid (Safeway) Twinkle shortly after I wrote the above. . .so it's been around three months later.

It's grown into a monster, alright! It sure seems to love the transparent pot and I give it lots of water and morning sun.

I took this photo today. I think the flowers are prettier, fuller and more intensely hued this second blooming! The blooms are delicate, pale salmon pink with a very light overlay of pale yellow.

Smells terrific too!

Does anyone know which one I have?

Looking good, Gwen. I don't know which one it is, but it sure seems to like what you're doing!
