I found the yellow militonia I've been searching for. I can't post a picture right now. The plant has five spikes in bud. Its roots are pushing the plant out of the pot. Would it be safe for me to drop the plant into a larger pot now without losing the flowers? I'm afraid to leave it as it is for fear of it drying out. Any thoughts?

Can't you water it regularly? That would be a lot safer than repotting now. It's OK for the roots pushing out of the pot to dry a little so long as you water the whole plant regularly.

Another method: Put the smaller pot with roots spilling over into a bigger pot that will accommodate the roots and old pot, add bark or other potting media, and water. If your old pot is ceramic, there is the old "hammer" method. Take a hammer, gently tap the ceramic pot until it breaks, and then pot the whole mess in a larger pot. This gives the roots places to expand, and the old pot acts as hard media (like lecca).

Will love seeing pictures when is has bloomed!

Thank you for your replies. I grow quite a few of these but never had this dilemma before. I'll post photos soon.
