Default Cultural info needed for Milt. X Bllra.!!!!

I just got Milt. Maui Titan X Bllra. Tahoma Glacier 'Kitty Kat' for Valentine's Day, and I'm not sure what sort of cultural requirements this plant requires, as I have never grown one. It has lovely purple-spotted flowers, and the Miltonia influence is prominent... I'll be sure to post pictures tomorrow! I surely would love to be successful with this orchid, and I want to make it extremely happy (if only for my enjoyment... hehe!). The leaves are quite thin, so I'm assuming it doesn't like a ton of light. Temperature wise, should I keep it on the cooler side? Does it require a cool, dry rest period to flower??? Any info will be treasured! Thanks!!!! (on behalf of my new baby!)

Milt. is for Miltonia and Bllra (Beallara) is Brassia x Cochlioda x Miltonia x Odontoglossum.
Not sure about growing conditions. Perhaps looking up Beallara might help? I happen to have a copy of the Hybrid Abbreviations.
My instinct would be medium light, keep slightly moist, and I would guess to be 55 degrees or better nights, and about 10 degrees warmer for day temps.
This is only what I would shoot for.....and that at best is a stab in the dark. Anyone else know?

If it has Miltonia in it... it probably likes to stay on the moist, humid side..... but that's just my guess

Ok so here are the pictures! They really captured how breathtaking the blooms appear in person! It has a light, rosy, organic scent, too!

That's a lovely plant Elliot. Nice gift!

I have a Brlla. that I'm growing intermediate and it seems very happy. I think because your plant has a double dose of Miltonia in it's background I'd try growing it cool-intermediate. Maybe start with intermedate and if it starts looking stressed back off on the temp a little.

Beallara I know well, Miltonia I can kill in a minute!. Not sure on your blend, but if Bllra is a strong partner I'd say you want strong light ( up to full sun) and lots of water while growing or in spike. Mine has spiked and bloomed at least 5 times since Jan 2007! These guys can be a definite show when they choose to and it looks like you have a real champ on your hands.
