Default Tulumnia Jairak Rainbow and a NOID in bloom

This is one of my porcelain hollow logs that I got several years ago. These 2 Tolumnia's have been mounted together on it since I got the log in spring of 2013. The pinkish purple one with 2 spikes in bloom is Jairak Rainbow. The more yellow one (a NOID) also has 2 good sized spike, only one in bloom yet and a small 3rd spike just starting. They both seem fairly happy on this mount. I think it's the first time I have enjoyed them both in bloom at once, which was my hope when I mounted them.

The log is hollow and I often fill it with water so it can slowly seep out of the porcelain. But I also hose down the outside of it and wet the roots. It grows pretty dry in summer because it is in a hot sunny location and I don't always get a chance to water it every day. It seems fine with this. In winter it gets medium light and water once or twice a week.

Thanks Bud and DeaC. These logs look pretty life like too. I have a miniature Catt on my other one and it seems pretty happy as well.

Silken, do you find that salts deposit on the outside of the "log"? Or does your hosing down of the outside take care of that? I was worried about white deposits on the outside when I tried this method of culture.

Thanks everyone! The rest of the buds are opening faster now that I brought it into the house which is warmer than the greenhouse in winter.

It does get a bit of build up and I only use tap water, no ferts when filling the hollow part. But the plants seem happy enough and it gets lots of heavy flushes with tap water. It's been on there nearly 3 years now. My mini Catt that is on the other one has it just covered in roots and is really flourishing. I posted pics when it bloomed a while back too.
