This is a great orchid!
I can't believe these have all but vanished from everywhere in the US! A few people have admired mine so I divided it and gave it, thinking...I will just buy a new one, like last time when I did the same thing. Opps. Hopefully, the ones I gave away will continue to thrive and I can get a division one of these days. Or, I might just see if I can buy a flask and just grow them out. :|

After killing 3 of them, I finally have the first rebloom on mine.
I hope I have found the secret since it is my favorite and you're right, you don't see them anymore.

The same thing happened to me that happened to Leafmite: all was well, I divided and gave half to a friend and then it didn't like the repot and died. I loved that orchid and now I cannot find a replacement!

Strange that it's disappeared in the US. Over here in the Netherlands, I see it in garden centers year after year, it's one of the classics. I love the fragrance of it!
I killed 3 back when I was an orchid newbie, in large part due to the large plug of sphag at the center of the root ball. But now, with lots more experience under my belt (and more killed orchids) I do very well with Oncs in general, so am tempted to try this one again!

This orchid is my nemesis. I've killed 4 and not sure my 5th is doing very well. Not sure what it doesn't like about me, but it doesn't

It is, I believe, mostly cloned in the Netherlands. Lucky you!
