Wonderful! I have the same plant, got it this spring as well. Mine was in bloom at the time and has been growing a new growth ever since. Seeing yours in bloom now makes me wonder, my growth is quite large, maybe I'm doing something wrong. Either way, thanks for sharing, so nice to see it again. I love the size of the flowers. And I don't recall mine having much of a scent worth talking about, maybe a little detection of spiciness but nothing serious.

Enjoy!

Thank you all for your kind comments!

Lotis, it took quite a long time to get this guy to bloom, and the growth that flowered was pretty mature by the time I saw the first spike. As far as I know, these are not very fussy about blooming requirements. I really hope you see a spike soon!

So the pbulb had formed when it spiked? Thanks for that info I wasn't sure and my latest growth is not fully mature.

If I recall, it was just beginning to plump out when I noticed the spikes. It certainly wasn't fully mature; in fact, it caught me off guard, because I was expecting the growth to be older before it would bloom!

Again, thank you for that, means there's still a chance.

This morning, Bella's flowers received a good deal of sunshine and I definitely got a whiff of fragrance. The flowers smell like black pepper! It's subtle but definitely detectable. I believe the time of day and the sunlight play a part in activating the fragrance.

Just in case someone was interested!
