Aliceara Hani ‘Star of Unicorn’ with weird spike

A first time bloomer for me. I'm mostly pleased though I wish the lips had opened flatter. The spike is coming from the top of the pseudobulb like a Cattleya - what's up with that? The rest of my Oncidiums spike from from the base of the pseudobulb...

I've had a couple Onc alliance intergenerics do this (an Aliceara and a Miltassia) - not typically, just happens sometimes. Both also spiked from the expected area on the same pbulbs, as well.

I just found out about the re-classification of Degarmoara to Aliceara, now I need to make new tags. I have the same plant but it always blooms from the side of the p-bulb. I love the scent too.
