Miltoniopsis Steve Sokien 'Pretty in Pink'
Been very busy and haven't posted bloom pictures/ or get online much. So here I am to post a few I have had over the last few months. I got this one from The Orchid Gallery last year. It has done very well. Unfortunately the spike got heavy and broke so I will stake it from now on. I also had a second spike that dried up from under watering.

Beautiful! One of my favorite Miltoniopsis!
I believe the second part of the name is Skoien.
Miltoniopsis are sensitive to underwatering, so keep it moist.
And yes, definitely spike when the buds are showing. They get heavy but the spike is so thin.

You are right about the name, I checked my tag. It was such a shame because the flowers would have lasted so much longer if the spike didn't break. I also would have had at least 6 flowers instead of 3. Lesson learned on this bloom round! Do you have this one?

So beautiful!!!! I have my first one, but it is very small. I hope that I can learn from your posts and others how to give it the right culture...I would love to have a bloom like yours!

Hi, thanks! Do you have the same hybrid?
I give my Miltoniopsis phal light.. so low to medium. I try to water it a good amount and don't fertilize a lot. My humidity ranges from. 30 to 60%. I dont let it get warmer than about 77 deg though. I think Miltoniopsis are easier growing than people give them credit for. Good luck with yours, the blooms on these are big and wonderful!

Mine is a Miltoniopsis Galapagos 'Thatched Lodge'. I have been trying to keep it moist at all times and my humidity range is about like yours. It will be tough to keep it cool enough this summer...trying to find the right location to give it the best light and temp. Thanks for the culture information. I think I am going to move mine today to a place it will be better suited according to your recommendation.
Thanks!!!

That is super pretty, wow, good growing. Sorry to hear about the breakage, that's a bummer. Better luck next time!
