Psychopsis - Bizarre new growth from roots?!
I purchased this Psychopsis Mendenhall Hildos from Hausermann Orchids last month. It came with 2 spikes, one was about 2.5 ft tall and the other about 7 inches tall. I repotted as soon as it arrived home and although i have read in numerous threads that they are finicky with repotting, I decided to follow my usual routine and was pleased that it came a ton of healthy roots. I know if I waited any longer i will loose my nerve as the spikes get more developed. Well, it didn't miss a beat and the spikes have since grown about 4 more inches and the longest one is working on developing its bud. I soon also found a 3rd spike coming out as well. It sits on a south facing window sill.
Well, heres the weird part. Last week i noticed this bizarre growth which looks to be growing directly from a desiccated root tip at the surface of the pot. When I repotted, I methodically removed all old media (i can't remember but it was mostly fine fir bark and small amt of moss i think), rinsed the roots, sprayed it with hydrogen peroxide and potted it back using fresh med/fine fir bark, sponge rock and some NZ sphagnum moss. I thought maybe i didn't remove all the old media but I was very thorough as i have been so excited about this plant but anyway, i used a tweezer to pull at the tip of the dried part it is growing out of...it won't budge at all. I'm pretty sure it is growing from a root.....What the heck is this? I really don't want to do another repotting....
Now my curiosity is telling me to leave it alone and see what it could be. The little growth does not appear to have any roots just yet.
Would you cut it off? Will it hurt the plant if its a hitch hiking plant growing in there? Im so confused about this. Definitely not curious enough to compromise the Psychopsis...
I originally thought maybe a keiki but research is showing me that is not where keikis grow for this plant. I'm totally stumped.
I will attempt to post some pictures.

This is a picture of the whole plant
Here is a shot of the 3rd spike coming along. Woohoo!
Here is a shot of the weird growth taken last Wednesday
This is my attempt at pulling it with a tweezer just to show you where i'm yanking...oh and the 2 holes on the one leaf came that way but i think its fine as all the other leaves are firm and otherwise healthy.
And here is a close up of it taken today

Could that be a seedling of a different kind of plant? A dicot?

If dict, should NOT be an orchid but other plants.

Okay. I'll wait a little to see what becomes of it and probably end up removing it so it does not compete with my Psychopsis.
