Hey everyone!
I've had the orchid bug for about 1.5 years now, and I picked this odontocidium up at Fred Meyer's last summer. I noticed a new flower spike at the end of October, and boy was I excited!!
I am extra proud because I trained the spike to grow around the bamboo stake so I don't have to use any ugly clips!
I am curious- the flower spikes that were present when I bought it were about 4 inches taller, and had several off-branches. However this flower spike is shorter and no off-branches. Do you guys know why that is? Is it because it is the second flower spike from a single pseudobulb? Is it because of too little light? Fertilizer?
Any advice would be really appreciated.
Even with a slightly smaller infloresence, I am just THRILLED about this and feel really proud.
