OOh, dachshunds! Still miss mine.
Beautiful orchid. When the blooms drop, just leave the flower stem and it will probably produce more blooms. I have a Phalaenopsis that has bloomed three times in the last year on the same stems. The flowers fade, and more little "spikes" appear at some of the nodes where they were, or from other junctions in the stem. Keep hoping it will produce some baby plants there too.
I suspect the same might be true of the Dendrobiums, so I'd think it would be worth leaving the stems alone to give it the opportunity.

Oncs usually don't rebloom from old spikes, nor do blooming spikes continue growing, unlike Phals. I have a Sharry Baby as well, and the spikes are tall and bare until they are quite tall, and then the buds develop. However they tend to form all around the same time, so I'm not sure that your plant will produce any others. Can you post a photo or two of the top of the spike, above the existing blooms?

Well Camille during transit the top was must have hit the top of the box and it was bent and where it bent onward died. I cut the brown tip and applied a tinie tiny amount of cinnamon paste. I will post a pic in the morning of how it looks. DeaC thank you 😜 and Mama Liberty, I really hope it branches after these two blooms 😊

It's been a few days since they started opening and the fragrance is amazing. NOW I know why people love this orchid 😍 it really does smell like a very sweetened chocolate bar.

I think this will be all you get this time around. I'm no expert but Onc. don't grow like a Phal they branch as they are growing. Well I guess some phals do. I think when the spike bent it stopped growing there. I'm sure it will be better next time, the plant looks good and healthy.
Cute pups but they are a little show offs

Some do, some do not. My Sharry Baby does not branch. It just grows very long spikes. I suspect you will see more blooms develop. I am not seeing the brown husk looking material that indicates that the nodes where blooms will emerge have blasted. I'll go upstairs and take a pic of this on a plant I have with a spent spike so you can see what I mean.

Pic will be kind of small, but it will give you an idea. These brownish husk like bits that you can see hanging from the spike are an indicator that a plant is done blooming off of that spike, at least, that has been true for all of the oncidiums I have had so far. These start at the nodes as bright green tissue and if blooms are not going to come out at that spot, they tend to get brown.
I could be completely off base with this. It's something I have observed in my own plants. Never bothered to research it though.
