Banfieldara Gilded Tower 'Mystic Maze

First time blooming this one for me.

I bought this orchid at the local orchid society's show last year in March. I have not been the best caregiver of this plant. I forget to water it. I killed one of the back bulbs, that's how much I forget to water it. Still, the plant rewarded me for my lack of concern for its needs with 7 buds and this single bloom has opened so far. The petals are a bit curlier than they were when I purchased the plant, but the colors are much more vibrant.

Thank you! I'm pleased that it bloomed. This plant covers all the bases for me. Lots of color, spidery flowers and it's fragrant too! It has a typical orchid scent. Floral, not too heavy. The scent won't fill a room, but you will notice it when you walk by.

Updated photos of this one with all the blooms open. I am surprised that I did not blast a single bud on this. I tried to include a shot of the whole plant. After this blooming is done, I will be repotting it. The whole thing is crawling out of the pot and the plant lists slightly to the one side.





Unfortunately the colors aren't very true. My T5s are on in my office, so they skew the color balance on the photos. The color on the petals is more of a banana that is not quite ripe, with the lip being a true yellow with burgundy spots.
