Yes, lotis146, these were as big as the first blooms. And my office is regularly 60F overnight. It sits in a big, east facing window on the 4th floor of a 5 story bldg, so it gets plenty of light, but it is never hot. Grown in S/H. It grows really well in these conditions. I would trade it for a warmer office, though! I'd keep phals and dens in there instead! My office kills those. Too cold.
Thanks for sharing that. Mine is near an east window, doesn't get the bright light because it's behind others. I wonder if it's cause while outside the temps varied more than indoor conditions. I'll keep your experience in mind for the future. Thanks again and good growing!
I have donated this plant to my department secretary (hero, really--what she does isn't summed up by the title "secretary") and noticed when I stopped by her office today that it is blooming again! It's still in LECA in a clay pot set inside a cache pot. I imagine it's still in S/H. It's in an east facing windowsill now. Keep in mind that we JUST started getting warm weather, but the building is still cool. I was surprised that it's blooming again and it tempts me to try on in LA once I'm settled in there. We'll see . . .
