Default A Lovely One.

I really had to restrain myself to not buy this. Not enough room and have an abundance of purple flowers -
though this seemingly had some blue in it..Can't remember the name of the hybrid, someone with the last name "Frick" I think.

Name is probably Miltassia Charles M. Fitch, or variant there of. It's in the Oncidium alliance.

No matter how lovely the flowers of these guys are, I know I just don't have the room for them. I admire them, yes, but I am always glad that they belong to someone else.

I am looking for one of these. I just love them. I saw one when I was on vacation but did not know how I would get it home maybe as a carry on haha.

Really nice where did you see it?

Lowe's! I tend to stalk orchids at Trader Joe's, but after reading about "Lowe's rescues" around here, decided to finally check out what they have. I was totally thinking I'd find mostly noids and/or phals in mediocre condition, but turns out they had a lot of registered, "legit," more exotic appearing (and more expensive) oncidium alliance plants. It seems they contract (in my area) with Gubler's orchids. I also bought a Gubler's fine bark mix there which I like the best of any other mix so far...

I do still think TJ's gives you the best bang for your buck (have found a handful of gorgeous noids), but it means immediate repotting and more TLC, which I just don't have the patience for these days. I have saved many a rootless mini catt and killed 2 (gorgeous) milt seedlings from Trader Joe's...

Beautiful!
Lowe's has a year long return policy on their orchids should anything go wrong.
